Our brands have a long history of excellence. Waterford Crystal was originally founded in Ireland in 1783, Wedgwood was founded in England by Josiah Wedgwood in 1759 and Royal Doulton traces its origins back to the founding of Minton by Thomas Minton in England in 1793. Each is among the leading brands of fine crystal, fine bone china and fine china in the world. Rosenthal, which was established in Selb, Germany in 1879, is one of the leading brands of porcelain in Germany.
We operate in three classes of business: Waterford Crystal, Ceramics Group (including Wedgwood, Royal Doulton and Rosenthal) and W-C Designs & Spring. In the fiscal year ended 5 April 2008, Waterford Crystal accounted for 25.3% of revenue (€170.2 million), Ceramics Group accounted for 68.8% of revenue (€462.5 million) and W-C Designs & Spring accounted for 5.8% of revenue (€39.1 million).
